The beginnings of rap culture
Rap songs appeared in the seventies of last century in the poor neighborhoods of New York, populated by black migrants from Africa. Supposedly, the fashion for the rapid recitation of rhyming lyrics was imported from Jamaica. The first rappers were deejays and read their lyrics during discos. Gradually, rap moved to the streets.

The first rap battles also began to take place. Two people took turns reading out pamphlets in order to insult their opponents or otherwise show their superiority over them. Ten years later, the first paid songs began to appear on records. Rap began to conquer Europe. Up until the mid-nineties it continued to be positioned as a genre for gangsters and gangsters. However, the rap scene began to get a lot of attention. In the late nineties there was the famous East Coast/West Coast rivalry. Musical battles took place between the top performers of the two camps, Tupac Shakur and B.I.G. Notorious. Both were eventually shot dead in a street fight. The events of those days had a serious impact on rap culture as a whole.

Rap culture is also closely related to other elements of hip-hop. For example, the hobby of skateboarding or biking. There are often events in which young people compete in the skill of riding a bicycle or skateboard, and then in the ability to take out their opponent with rhymes.
